On June 4th, I spent two hours creating an outline to trace for the mural from 12-2 P.M. Later that evening from 4-9 P.M., we were tracing the outline and deciding color scheme and placement of lights camera action flags.
This was a 7 hour day.
Day 2:
On June 5th we worked from 11 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon. During this time, we only painted the gradient on the wall. Because we had done a gradient in the mural last year, Vicky, Ray, and I were showing the people who had not done a gradient on a larger scale how to approach it and how to get it the way you want it to look.
This was a 4 hour day.
Day 3:
On June 6th we worked from 11 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon. We worked on everything but the Hollywood sign.
This was a 4 hour day.
Day 4:
On June 7th, Vicky, Ray, and I got there at 9 in the morning while everyone else got there at 11, and we all worked until 4 in the afternoon. We did the Hollywood sign and added some finishing touches to the mural to make it look cleaner and more detailed.
This was a 7 hour day.
Day 5:
On June 8th, we worked 4 to 9 in the evening. Vicky and I spent the first two hours "directing parking" yet nobody was entering our lot and parked somewhere else, so we went to help usher with everyone. Doing this was a little chaotic because of all the people entering at once, but you could easily answer a question for anyone who needed an answer. Also, it was very stressful when people arrived late because then we would have to find and lead them to a seat in the dark. Telling people not to save seats was a good effort, but nobody listened. That was the only part I did not like about being an usher. Other than that, I had so much fun watching the dances (and doing some dances of my own.) But my favorite thing was to see people take pictures in-front of the mural. Made me very proud of our work.
This was a 5 hour day.
Day 6:
On June 9th, we worked from 11 in the morning to 9 at night. During the first show that day, I helped with the kids and running dances backstage with them. Gathering them all up was wild, but quite fun actually. Then for the second show I ushered again.
This was a 10 hour day.
Day 7:
On June 10th, we had another long day from 11 in the morning to 10 at night. I was an usher for both of the shows that day. Once the last show was done, the whole cast and crew helped strike the set.
